EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Helen Johnson Salako, the founder of Ozanna Foundation, has a calling for helping children who are experiencing poverty, abuse ( sexual, emotional physical, and spiritual), war-related trauma, and oppression as a result of race, color, or geographical location.

Helen, a wife, and mother of 4 wonderful children pursued her passion and devoted her time volunteering at her local church to teach the children. She has been a foster care provider for 8 years and worked as a school bus driver in a bid to continue helping the children.

Helen has a background in counseling, and event management & hospitality.

She is the proud owner of Ozanna Rentals & Event Management.

Helen migrated to Canada from Liberia, narrowly escaping wars. Life in multiple refugee camps, ravaged by poverty, attempted rape, and other forms of abuse, certainly had a devasting impact on her as a child.

However, her resilience from these gruesome and harrowing experiences not only helped shape her vision and perception as an adult but has contributed to animating her dreams and strengthening her commitment to helping children cope with trauma and building a stronger future.

Ozanna Foundation is built on excellence, hospitality, and humanitarian initiatives to engage the children year-round in Winnipeg with programs that enhance their physical, emotional, and cognitive development.

The Foundation seeks to advocate for an expedited immigration and adoption process for orphans, children living in poverty, and victims of forced displacement due to war, violence, and persecution.
